National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum
It’s been a while since I’ve visited this museum. However, that should not stop you. Rather it should be a valid reason for visiting this museum. One of my fondest memories of Colorado includes visiting this museum during a day trip from Denver.
Located up in the awe-inspiring mountain town of Leadville, the National Mining Museum taught me a lot about the history of mining. It’s a terrific opportunity to learn more about where the minerals come from. Especially in this day and time when technology depends on minerals to improve our lives on a daily basis.
You can combine this museum with a walking tour of the National Historic District of Leadville. Be sure to pack something to eat and drink if you are on a budget. It’s a fantastic area to enjoy a picnic on a picture-perfect day.
