Is it worth considering to become a trusted house sitter for long term travel? It is a good question to ask if you are looking for an alternative solution to your lodging needs while traveling.
Travel days are either perfect or full of deep breaths and polite smiles.
From 1) realizing my alarm was not set to vibrate to 2) an accident that brought traffic to a standstill for 45 minutes just a mere 10 minutes from the airport to 3) a grin and bear it weather delay, what turned out to be a simple plan saw me arriving checking into my room at 11 PM.
This was one of those deep breaths and polite smiles travel days.
Growing up, I was fascinated with nomads who move from place to place. Little did I realize I would become one of them. My nomadic journey has taken me to places beyond my wildest dreams.
In a span of just a little over 40 years, I have lived in…
- 1 country (average 43 years)
- 10 states (average 4.3 years)
- 16 cities/towns (average 2.7 years)
- 22 addresses (average 1.9 years)
During this time, I visited…
- 6 countries
- 60+ states/provinces
- Too many cities and towns to count
I admit I wonder if I would ever find a place of my own to call “home”. I don’t know if I’ll find the answer. Until then, I’ll just keep moving along “home”.
